Emma Watson is an English actress, model, and activist. She was born on April 15, 1990, in Paris, France, but grew up in Oxfordshire, England.
She first rose to prominence in 2001, at the age of 11, when she was cast as Hermione Granger in the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" book series. She went on to play Hermione in all eight "Harry Potter" films, earning critical acclaim and a huge fan base in the process.
After the "Harry Potter" franchise ended, Watson went on to star in a number of other films, including "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," "The Bling Ring," "Beauty and the Beast," and "Little Women."
In addition to her acting career, Watson is also an activist for gender equality and women's rights. She has served as a United Nations Women Goodwill Ambassador and helped launch the HeForShe campaign, which encourages men to support gender equality.
